Directions



From Durham City Centre- Follow the A690 out of Durham towards Nevilles Cross. At Nevilles Cross traffic lights head straight across following signs for Crook A690/ Meadowfield Industrial Estate. Follow the road through Langley Moor to Meadowfield. Do not take the first turn for Meadowfield and Littleburn Industrial Estate, instead continue until Meadowfield District Sports Centre is visible on the right hand side. Turn left opposite the Sports Centre on to St John's Road. Take the first turn on the right where Durham Climbing Centre is located through the double gates.

Alternative route from Durham City Centre along South Road- Head along South Road from the New Inn pub towards Van Mildert, Collingwood, Grey Colleges. Continue along the road past Howlands Farm, Durham Crematorium and Durham High School. The road joins the A167 at the Cock 'o the North Roundabout where there is a new housing estate. At the roundabout turn left onto the A167 and continue along the dual carriageway for approx 3/4 mile until the Honest Lawyer pub is on the left hand side. Turn right after the Honest Lawyer onto the B6300 Brandon road. Continue along the road for approx 1 mile turning onto Meadowfield Industrial Estate on the right hand side. Continue through the estate for approx 1/2 mile until Durham Climbing Centre is signposted on the left hand side.

From the South- Follow the A167 towards Durham City. After crossing the River Wear just past Croxdale, turn left onto the B6300 signposted Brandon. Follow the road for approximately one mile before turning right onto Meadowfield Industrial Estate. Follow the road round towards the end of the estate. Take the last left turn on the estate after Edwardson Road. Go through the double gates where you will find Durham Climbing Centre.

From the North- Follow the A167 Darlington Road towards Nevilles Cross. At Nevilles Cross traffic lights turn right on to A690 / Crook road. Continue through Langley Moor into Meadowfield. Turn left opposite Meadowfield District Sports Centre on to St John's Road. Take the first right turn where Durham Climbing Centre is located through the double gates.


Bus

The number 46, 49 or 50 service leaves Durham every 10 minutes and stops just past Meadowfield District Sports Centre. Get off at the bus stop and turn around heading back down the road with the church on your right hand side. Turn right after a few metres just after the church onto St. John's Road, Meadowfield Inductrial Estate. Durham Climbing Centre is located just inside the estate on the right hand side.
