Junior Winter Series Award Ceremony

After 5 rounds, 125 problems + 5 special pop n choc problems from route setter James Hunter, The Junior Winter Series 2015 has just entered it’s final round! Over 150 boys and girls have taken part on drop in sessions and lessons at Durham Climbing Centre! Well done!

On Sunday 29th March we would like to invite all juniors taking part in Junior Winter Series, our long running children’s competition running throughout the winter season. See full list of results here.

On the day, DCC Coaches will provide a fun climbing session and present all juniors with certificates, trophies and prizes for their efforts. Every single child receives a Certificate of Attendance.

Competition climbing is another element of climbing which is popular among children and adults. The categories for JWS follow International Federation for Sport Climbing guidelines (IFSC) which are the same categories used in BMC Youth Climbing Series – the largest national children’s climbing competition in the UK. Children’s competitions at DCC are designed to introduce children to the categories and scoring systems of various competitions, should they wish to participate in competitions outside DCC.
