Durham Climbing Centre Is Joining the ICWC!
We’re incredibly proud to share something huge — not just for Durham Climbing Centre, but for the entire UK climbing scene.
From the 1st October, all Durham Climbing Centre memberships will include free access to the other walls in the Independent Climbing Wall Collective (ICWC) — a brand new not-for-profit project created by Boulder Shack founder, Tim Miller.
What Is the ICWC?
The ICWC (Independent Climbing Wall Collective) is a powerful new collaboration between single-site independent climbing walls across the UK. It connects like-minded walls so that climbers like you can enjoy one free visit every month to any other ICWC wall — no vouchers, no hassle, just more climbing.
Whether you’re travelling for work, visiting friends, or just up for a day trip, you’ll now have a growing network of walls to explore — all included in your Durham Climbing Centre Monthly Unlimited Membership, 3 Month & 12 Month Prepaid memberships.

What You Need to Do
Nothing at all!
If you’re already a Durham Climbing Centre prepaid member, you’ll automatically be part of the ICWC — no need to sign up or activate anything. Your free monthly credit will be ready to use from 1st October and you’ll receive a simple email on the day with everything you need to know about how it works.
Just make sure your email address is up to date on our system - email us or speak to our reception team to check and update — and then start thinking about which wall you’ll visit first!
