Five months, five new sets of problems and 150 eager junior climbers have made this years’ Junior Winter Series a fun experience for everyone involved.
Today we celebrated the end of the series, with a 2 hour fun session testing out the new green problems and weaving in and out of the obstacle course on the junior wall! A traverse followed with a relay game as two teams battled against each other to pass along an item of clothing and a soft skittle!
Two ‘pop n choc’ problems were on offer with Felix Halsius spurred on by the cheering crowd to complete one of these. Jonah Kirtley and Thomas Dumble popped the advanced ‘pop n choc’: #2 slab.
Molly Kirkham came 3rd in her first ever comp after earlier this year joining the 7 – 12 years Rock Stars from younger class Baby Rock Stars. After only 2 months climbing at DCC, young gymnast Georgia Hewison picked up 4th in her first competition!
Long standing Rock Stars siblings Dillon and Olivia Veide picked up 2nd and 3rd respectively! Well done guys!
There are simply too many fantastic junior climbers to mention, but everyone’s efforts have not gone unnoticed.
A big well done to every child who has entered just one or all five rounds – you are all stars! Well done to everyone coming along today for certificates! Podium winners even took home their very own Volx Trophy in their choice of colour.
Look out for our next children’s one-day competition, taking place on Sunday 18th May – details will be released soon!
