WBS 2014 Round 2 Review

DCC climbers came down to have a crack at the problems of the 2nd round of our annual Winter Boulder Series last Friday and Saturday.

Mickey Stainthorpe tested everyone’s ability on a range on styles! There was a problem for just about everything! From really slow-moving problems that require really good balance to fast dynamic moves such as the starting dyno on the barrel or the run and jump start next to the cave.

Down the tunnel there were a few surprises, with some of the harder climbs being set there this round! In general most climbers said the level of difficulty was very slightly lower than round 1 with a few higher scores appearing on the scoreboard now. A festive supper including mince pies, candy canes and mulled wine was put on for everyone to dig into and get in the Christmas spirit!

Next round will be 25 pink problems set by Paul Carruthers. Round 3 will start from 5pm Friday 30th January and end at closing time Saturday 31st January. Just enough time to come back down after the Christmas period and get in the swing of it! To help you along, don’t forget your 2 free coaching sessions every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm and #WorkoutWednesday – a free core session ever week from 7.30pm – 8pm. No excuses for Round 3!
