We are thrilled to announce our biggest ever annual Summer Family Fun Day takes place this year on Sunday 9th July from 12pm - 4pm!
The event brings together a variety of local attractions to try out on the day… many are FREE or incur a small charge!
There are some new activities joining the event this year including the Police Interceptors, Aerial Hoop and The Escape Rooms Durham!
Police Interceptors - FREE
The popular TV series follows Durham and Cleveland force as they tackle crime. Come along to meet the interceptors and try on a police uniform!
Aerial Hoop - FREE
A free standing hoop to practice acrobatic skills! This activity combines dance, circus skills, choreography and fitness.
Escape Rooms - FREE
Escape Rooms (also known as Exit rooms) are taking the world by storm! Think a cross between 'The Crystal Maze' & 'Cluedo' and you're there! The Escape Rooms team will be running a puzzle game to solve. You can win a prize if you unlock the puzzle!
Diggerland JCB Rides - Small charge
Take a ride on a real life JCB! Our friends at Diggerland return this year and we hope to see Diggerland Mascots Dotty and Dougie!
Reptile Zoo - FREE
Children can meet all kinds of reptiles and critters in the mini reptile zoo!
Live Music - FREE
Komparrison are Elise Harrison and Kaitlyn Kempen, they are a 2 piece vocal harmony group based in the North East. We are very pleased to welcome the girls to our event providing soulful harmonies on the day.
Face Painting - Small charge
Our regular Face Painter Libby returns to recreate superhero, fairies and princess faces to all our visitors on the day.
Bouncy Castle Obstacle Course - FREE
Make your way along the inflatable obstacle course to the slide at the end! Great fun for the whole family!
BBQ
Tuck into freshly barbecued burgers and hot dogs or cool down with an ice lolly! A range of panini, toasties, teas, coffees and cold drinks will be on offer from our cafe.
Raffle
Special thanks to the many local businesses and attractions who have donated some fantastic prizes for the raffle! Up for grabs are prizes from Beamish Wild, Infinite Air, Escape Rooms, Razzamataz, Tempest Dance Studio, Crook Hall & Gardens, Washington Wetland Centre, Binchester Roman Fort, Phoenix Cards and MORE!
You could also win prizes donated by ourselves including children's lesson vouchers or a day at our Summer Climbing & Bushcraft Activity Day Camp!
Raffle tickets cost just £1 each.
There will be a small entry charge on the gate of 50p per person, under 3's go free.
