Do I need to book?

We are encouraging customers to book ahead for any drop-in sessions. You must pre book courses with an instructor e.g taster session, beginner course, NIBAS and childrens' sessions.

What equipment do I need?

Climbing shoes and chalk (for extra grip). Climbing shoes and chalk can be hired and purchased at the Centre.

I've never climbed before. Do I need a Taster Session?

Taster sessions are strongly advised for novice climbers. Please book online and watch the safety video on arrival. If you are an experienced climber, a taster session is not required but you may be required to undergo a competency test.

What level of fitness is required?

Indoor climbing is suitable for all levels of fitness. Warming up is important; you will learn warm up tips on your introductory session.

When do you run Taster Sessions?

The latest live availability can be viewed online by clicking 'Book Now' & choosing Beginner Taster/ Improver session.

Can I do it with a friend?

You may bring up to five additional people on the taster session. A partner is not essential but climbing is an activity that can be done with friends.

What should I wear?

Comfortable sports clothing that you can move freely in. You must wear climbing shoes on the walls. Shoe hire is available at the Centre.

Session Etiquette

  • Please ensure you are booked into each session you intend participating in as numbers may be limited.
  • Please contact the centre if you are booked into a session and cannot attend.
  • Please inform your instructor of any medical conditions prior to the start of the session.
  • Ensure you arrive at the time stated when booking. If you arrive early, please wait outside or in your car.
  • Please wear light comfortable clothing for the class preferably long sleeves and trousers. Please arrive in the clothes you would like to climb in.
  • Please hire climbing shoes or bring your own. Only climbing shoes are permitted onto the matted areas. Bare feet are not permitted on the climbing walls.
  • Food and drinks are not permitted on the climbing mats.
  • Please note, for your safety the Centre is monitored by CCTV.
