Send Fest 24

Send Fest 24

On Saturday 9th March we held the first one day climbing event Send Fest!

Competitors were invited to come and qualify between 10am-5pm on a selection of 25 qualification boulders with the top 5 highest ranking in each category invited to the exciting spectators final. Showcasing some brand new holds from Flux, Unit and SNAP - with the Snap donuts proving very popular on the day. Qualifiers closed at 5pm and the Impact routesetting team led by Cailean and Ben stripped and reset the volcano in record time creating 6 new boulders , three final problems each for the three category final; Open Male, Open Female and Minority Genders.

The vibe throughout qualifiers was relaxed and upbeat, with lots of sends and strong competition across the male and female categories.

Male ranking after 25 qualification boulders saw a three way tie in 2nd place. In the female, five strong finalists from the top 6 scoring climbers battled it out for the £100 cash prize, goody bag and Core winners trophy!

Crowd pleasing final boulders, lots of support from the crowd with encouraging commentary from Cailean made for an exciting final! Then followed the goody packed raffle stocked with hiking shoes, climbing kit and more! A few keen climbers stayed to try out the final boulders before closing.

Thanks to event supporters Beyond Hope and Red Bull for supplying us with the goods. Thanks to photographer Andrew for capturing the day on film, DJ Sam for the beats and the entire DCC Team for their hard work leading up to the event and on the day.

The final boulders will remain up until Wednesday for a few more sends, before another massive reset on Thursday and Friday across the steep volcano and cave sections!

Thanks everyone for coming to Send Fest and see you all again next year!
