COVID-19 Information

Thanks to our amazing climbing community for your support this last year.

Please read and adhere to our COVID-19 Policies and Procedures designed for the safety of customers and staff:

• Do not visit if you or a member of your household is displaying symptoms
• If you book a session, then develop symptoms – please contact us to cancel your session and offer an exchange to a different session
• Please follow all guidance on local restrictions when visiting Durham Climbing Centre.
• Climbers are encouraged to social distance with other climbers and staff in the centre
• It is strongly recommended that climbers and spectators wear face coverings on arrival and departure, when moving around the centre and at all times except when climbing, eating or drinking.
• Staff wear face coverings at all times
• Wash hands and sanitise regularly during your visit at the sinks and sanitise points provided
• Pre-booking online is always preferred and is mandatory for sessions including coaching.
• Check in and out at reception on arrival
• Avoid bringing large bags and lots of belongings - please bring minimal items and arrive ready to climb
• Please follow the one-way system in place
• Instructional groups: Covid 19 Risk Assessments are in place for group visits. Please contact Centre Manager [email protected] for information on bringing a group
• Capacity restrictions remain in place to allow climbers and spectators to feel safe and practice social distancing. Please respect capacity restrictions. Online bookings are given priority over walk ins - at busy times, management reserves the right to restrict entry on walk-in sessions
• There are currently no time limits on sessions - pay once to climb all day. This policy is being kept under review inline with capacity restrictions.
