Academy Top the Podium!

Congratulations to Will from our academy team who podiumed in 3rd place this weekend at the Scottish Youth Climbing Championships 2022!

The qualifiers consisted of two routes with competitors only getting 1 attempt to set their best scores!

The top climbers from the qualifiers then went into a final in isolation.Isolation is an area separate for competitors from viewing the routes and it stops them from talking to other climbers who have completed the climbs or talking to spectators or coaches.

There were 3 boys who all tied for second place based on points so it went down to time and Will missed out on 2nd place by only 1 second but he still brought back great results with a 3rd place podium in this huge event!

He was thrilled to be on the podium at a national event to represent his team and the North East! He really enjoyed the day and enjoyed seeing the friends he’s made from across the country.

These championships are sometimes taken into consideration for selection to the GB National Development Squad. So keep your eyes peeled to see what awesome things our team gets up to next!
