We are now in Round 5 Summer Boulder Ladder and everyone at DCC is wondering how the Summer has gone so fast! The last 10 problems of the ladder go up this Friday from Jens Signer. You have until 12th September to come down and bag yourself a score in Round 5. Even if you haven’t entered this years event why not come and find out what it’s all about. Good news for climbers attending all 5 rounds, as you take your highest 4 scores forward meaning if you’ve had a poor round, or found any of the rounds particularly hard (remember Gaz Parry’s white set for Round 2?!). For anyone attending less than 4 rounds, all scores will be added together to give your overall score. There are prizes for the top 3 in each category plus overall male and female winners. Come along to finals night on 13th September to be presented with your prize and don’t forget the goody packed raffle and set of quirky problems to try on the night from James Hunter. Your scorecard is your raffle ticket, so even if you have attended 1 round you could pick up a fantastic prize!
Gaz Parry trumped DCC climbers with his £50 pink problem located on the 35 face of the volcano. The crimpy first move followed by a big dynamic move onto the volume made it out of reach for everyone who attempted it. Do you have what it takes to send this one and pick up £50? You have until 12th September to have a blast! Mickey Stainthorpes’ Round 5 fifty pounder is also uncompleted as this goes to print!
As promised, we are giving away a pair of climbing shoes every round! The Round 4 winner chosen at random is Jonah Kirtley! Congratulations Jonah pick up your prize on your next visit – a pair of La Sportiva Mantis!
Everyone is welcome to come along on Friday 13th September to celebrate the end of Summer Boulder Ladder 2013! We hope you have enjoyed the problems in each round from our world class route setters.
Thanks to our series sponsors Gear For Girls, Sesh bar, Beta Climbing Designs, La Sportiva and Shiatsu Works who are all adding to the raffle prize pot! DCC will also be throwing in a Snap Boulder Mat, session passes, Panini and coffee vouchers, hoodies, T shirts and even bottles of bubbly to the pot! Category winners will have their names etched onto the SBL trophies and presented with prizes on the night. Overall Male and Female winners will also be crowned! On the night there will be light refreshments and a fresh set of quirky problems from james Hunter unveiled on the night! Starts 5pm!
