This weekend Durham Climbing Centre hosted Round 3 Winter Boulder Series and what a weekend it was! Route setter Ian Dunn laid on the purple problems using our brand new HRT holds. Sam got the party started on Friday with a live DJ set, and photographer Ronnie captured it all on film – pictures to be released soon!
Talking tunnel tactics
Some high scores in this round but only one clean sweep from 14 year old Jack Graham in the Under 16 category, his second clean sweep of the series! Read it and weep seniors and vets! Dropping just 3 points each there was a tie between Sam Brannigan and James Thompson in Senior Male. A strong category this year is Senior Female with more ladies taking part than ever before. Under 16 Males & Female categories are unfortunately under represented this year.
Round 3 in full swing!
The 5 highest scoring overall males and females will go head to head in the Final on 15th March to win cash prizes! Total scores are visible on the scoreboard, if you attend all 5 rounds the top 4 best scores count towards overall scores. Prizes will also be awarded for podium finishes in each category.
Nothing to see here, they’ve polished this lot off!
A free curry supper from local Indian Restaurant Namaste was appreciated by all and clean bowls were returned to the kitchen all evening.
Don’t forget, scorecards are raffle tickets these are kept in a big box and pulled out in the world cup style final on Saturday 15th March.
